Ten principles for overbusy, hyper-responsible people

  1. We do well to get good advice from a fresh set of eyes.
  2. We inhibit God's work by self-importance and self-reliance.
  3. We wear ourselves out and become self-appointed martyrs.
  4. We wear others out because the whole system bogs down.
  5. When in doubt, teach.
  6. Competent and credible people are the type to look for.
  7. Let go and let others.
  8. Life isn't always supposed to be so hard.
  9. Top level leaders live in the realm of values and visions.
  10. Everyone has a call and a role from God.

(This little list has been on my bathroom mirror for many months.

It comes from a sermon by Keith Potter at Saratoga Federated Church.
