Week Thirty

Students will look at the Reformation and the counter Reformation that swept over Europe this week and into next. We will also look at the life of Queen Elizabeth I…England’s greatest queen!

Wednesday May 7th

· Show your completed Renaissance pocket to a parent!

· Current Report: Write a short paragraph (4-5 sentences) about a current event that is happening somewhere in Europe. You will need to have a parent help you find a topic that you can understand and write about. In your short paragraph tell us what country the event happened in or is currently taking place and be able to show us where it is on our European map!

· Continue to finish up your additional history reading.

· Study for the retake of the capitals test if you need to!

Monday, May 11th

· Read story 68 from ACHOTW “Queen Elizabeth”

· Bring 3 questions to class on “Queen Elizabeth I”. You may use another source other than our textbook to get your information. We will see how familiar the class is with England’s greatest queen. Write out your questions neatly on a 3x5 card.

· Study for the retake of the capitals test if your need to!

· Finish reading the following four readers we have for American History reading. They are the four Jean Fritz books and the Margaret Cousins book that have been on our curriculum list. They are to be read at your own pace but must be finished by May 13^th. When I refer to the American History Reading I am referring to: Will You Sign Here, John Hancock, Shh! We’re Writing the Constitution, Can’t You Make Them Behave, King George? And Then What Happened, Paul Revere? and Ben Franklin of Old Philadelphia
