4th Grade History and Geography

Coursework

Week Twenty- Four

 Wednesday, March 26th

·        Review and chant your timeline 2 times.  You should now have it almost totally memorized so we can begin blocking it in class.

·        Read “Gutenberg” from Famous Men of the Middle Ages and come up with 4 or 5 questions from the reading to ask classmates for a review game.  Write out your questions neatly on a 3x5 index card with the answer on the back.

·        Continue to review the capitals cities of Europe taking a section at a time to memorize.

·        Begin to read any of the following four readers we have for American History reading.  They are the four Jean Fritz books and the Margaret Cousins book  that have been on our curriculum list.  They are to be read at your own pace but must be finished by May 13th.  When I refer to the American History Reading I am referring to:  Will You Sign Here, John Hancock,  Shh! We’re Writing the Constitution,  Can’t You Make Them Behave, King George?  And Then What Happened, Paul Revere? and  Ben Franklin of Old Philadelphia

Monday, March 30th

·        Chant your timeline 2 times aloud

·        Complete lessons 21 & 22 from Maps, Charts and Graphs.  Have a parent correct and initial at the top.  If you have fallen behind on these, use some vacation time to catch up.  I will be checking completed books mid-April

·        Continue to memorize the capitals of the countries of Europe.  Use your handouts.   We will have a practice test on Tuesday ….just a practice test.

·        Review through your notebook the new material from King John’s signing of the Magna Carta through Gutenberg.  Next week we will have a test on it but we will have a review game in class to help you remember the important facts.

·        Continue with your American History Reading

My student has completed this weeks reading and assignments to the best of our ability at home.____________________________________________(signed)
