4th Grade History and Geography

Coursework

Week Sixteen

This week we will be continuing our study of the Middle Ages.  Tuesday we will take our test on material covered in the first half of the year.  We will pick up with the signing of the Magna Carta by King John.   In class we will design our own class Magna Carta and read from our text ACHOTW “John, Whom Nobody Loved”.  At home students will be writing an “eye-witness report of the events that take place”.   We will continue to drill our countries of Europe.

Wednesday, January 23rd.

·        Complete handout on “Europe’s Natural Resources and Industries and The People of Europe”.

 Monday, January 28th

·        Write a brief news article on King John and the sealing of the Magna Carta.  You may use the paper provided or use your own.

Directions:

Based on your reading from chapter 57 of ACHOTW “John, Whom Nobody Loved” and last weeks reading from FMOTMA “Henry and His Sons” write a brief newspaper story about King John and the sealing of the Magna Carta.  Pretend you were an eye-witness to the signing or that you were a peasant who suffered under King John’s tyrannical rule.  Make sure you include the important points from your reading.  Be creative and have fun.

My student has completed this weeks reading and assignments to the best of our ability at home.
