4th Grade History and Geography

Coursework

Week Fifteen

This week we will be continuing our study of the Middle Ages.  Tuesday we will continue our study of the crusades focusing in on the 3rd Crusade lead by 3 famous kings.  We will be reading from our text and at home from Famous Men of the Middle Ages.   Thursday we will play a review game to prepare the students for the semester test next week.  We will also be drilling our continent of Europe and practicing our timeline chant.

Wednesday, January 16th

·        Based on the legend of Blondel (chapter 54 in ACHOTW), who was King Richard’s favorite court singer, write a balled (simple song with more than one stanza) to the tune of “Greensleeves” (What Child is This) that you might sing if you were Blondel and seeking your kidnapped king.  Copy your song neatly onto a piece of paper to be read to the class and turned in.  No late assignments will be accepted on this because of semester grade calculations.

·        Read from Famous Men of the Middle Ages “Henry II and His Sons” pages 137 --- through the top half of 144.  If you have a different edition you should read up through King Richard’s death.

Monday, January 21st

·        Pack up your book of Maps, Charts, and Graphs to bring to school on Tuesday.  It will be recorded for a semester grade.

·        Review your word wall that was handed out from our Bingo game and make sure your know information for each term (our game questions will be most helpful in this).

My student has completed this weeks reading and assignments to the best of our ability at home.
