4th Grade History and Geography

Coursework

Week Fourteen

This week we will be continuing our study of the Middle Ages.  On Tuesday we will be reading about the crusades.  We will also be drilling our continent of Europe and practicing our timeline chant.   We are looking forward to hearing a report from Elizabeth P. about her trip to Normandy and seeing pictures of the actual Bayeux Tapestry!  Thursday’s class period will be a painting day so please send your student to school in older cloths.  A painting smock or old t-shirt would be ideal.

Wednesday, January 9th

·        Chant your timeline pages two times aloud

·        Read chapter 7 from Story of the Middle Ages (light blue).  A parent can read this with you if you prefer.

·        Answer the following questions from chapter 7 in complete sentences

(1,3,9,10,11,12) on a sheet of notebook paper.

Monday, January 14

·        Read from Famous Men of the Middle Ages the chapter on Peter the Hermit.

·        Complete crossword handout based on reading from FMOTMA.

·        Complete lesson 10 from Maps, Charts, and Graphs.  Have a parent correct and initial.

·        Pack up your book of Maps, Charts, and Graphs to bring to school on Tuesday.  It will be recorded for a semester grade.
