4th Grade History and Geography
Coursework
Week Thirteen
This week we will be continuing our study of the Middle
Ages. On Tuesday we will be making our
own version of the Bayeux Tapestry which is a famous tapestry that depicts the
Battle of Hastings. At home students are
to begin to memorize the countries of Europe …. Use the Scandinavia and Great
Britain handouts. If your student cannot
find the handout study the following countries:
England, Scotland, Wales, North Ireland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden,
Finland, Denmark, and Iceland. These are
review and should be fairly easy for the students. The students need to be able to identify the
country from an outline map. The best
way to practice at home is to point and have them guess the country. Do this over and over and they will know the
country by the name and shape. They will
eventually be tested on all the countries of Europe and their capitals so consistent
review is how they will accomplish this.
Be looking for outline maps in their notebooks (under maps) to find the
tools to help with this. If they already
know them have them begin the capitals.
We will test on the capitals later in the year. I would be grateful if
you would also remember to sign and return on Tuesdays the assignment sheets!
