Week Seven

This week we will be continuing our study of the Middle Ages. We will be studying about the rise of Islam and Mohammed. If time permits we will listen to a tale of from The Arabian Nights. Students will complete review worksheets at home based on reading. We will be working on a physical map of the continent of Europe next week made from Salt Dough. The project is similar to that of our Greece and Rome creations from last year only we will be making the entire continent with the 5 major mountain chains. Please help your student with the dimensions of the project so that I will have the right amount of dough for each student.

Wednesday, October 23rd

· Read chapter 46 from your ACOTW textbook and complete the review worksheet that was handed out.

· Complete Maps, Charts, and Graphs chapter 5. Have a parent correct and initial.

Monday, October 29^th

· Read from Famous Men of the Middle Ages the chapter on Mohammed and complete handout given in class.

· Outline the continent of Europe (you have a handout in your notebook) on a stiff piece of cardboard or thick poster board (no larger than 14” by 10”). You do not need to draw each of the individual islands of Greece and Scandinavia but a rough drawing. We will make a dough physical map in class with these on Tuesday.

My child has completed these assignments to the best of our ability this past week.
