Assignment #24 March 25, 2008

 

1.  Read:

&   Read Chapter 31, sections 1-5.  Answer the Read to Discover Questions at the beginning of each section.  Due Tuesday, April 1 (no fooling).   

 

2.  Test:  Study chapter 30 (World War II).  You will be taking home a test on Thursday.

 

3.  Primary Sources…  Find a friendly person (an “informant”) who remembers either the Great Depression or World War II.  Arrange to meet him or her for an interview—make a list of good questions about their experience.  Then sit down, ask your questions, listen carefully, and make copious notes.  Be sure to thank your friend before you toodle off to write your article.

     Now, write an essay about the person’s experience.   Your essay should have an introduction and a conclusion and should consist of a series of well-crafted paragraphs (at least 750 words; due March).
