1. Read:

Sept. 11—Read Holt, pages 531-550. Write answers to the Read to Discover Questions, page 544. In addition, define the words listed on page 544. Due 9/13.

Read pages 160-165, Atlas of World History. Write one paragraph to summarize and discuss one topic here that intrigues you. Due 9/20.

Sept. 13—Read Holt, pages 551-567. Write answers to all of the Read to Discover Questions on pages 551, 555, 559, and 564. Due 9/18.

2. Geography:

Begin to study and learn the locations of the nations of Europe (see map, page A8). Be prepared to identify them on a blank map of Europe (Sept. 20).

3. Extra Credit:

Write an essay in which you describe Napoleon and discuss his rise to power, the extent and nature of his power, and his impact on Europe. (At least 750 words; due Sept. 20.
