3)  The Supreme Court has determined that citizens have a right to privacy.  What is the constitutional basis for this right?

4)  What is the Bill of Rights and why was it added to the Constitution?

5)  How has the Supreme Court interpreted the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms?

6)  What is hate speech?  To what extent can government restrict it?

7)  How do protections against self-incrimination and double jeopardy help ensure the rights of the accused?

8)  Trace the evolution of legislative attempts to regulate obscenity and judicial interpretations of these statutes.

9)  What are the constitutional underpinnings for the right to privacy?  Discuss how the right to privacy has evolved into issues such as contraception, abortion, and sexual behavior.

10)  Under what circumstances can the police conduct warrantless searches?

11)  In what ways have Supreme Court decisions since Roe v. Wade permitted restrictions on the right to an abortion?  In what ways have they upheld the right to an abortion?

12)  The First Amendment contains both the establishment clause and the free exercise clause.  Discuss how the Supreme Court has interpreted these clauses and how these decisions have affected the "wall of separation" between church and state.

13)  What restrictions on freedom of speech and freedom of the press are constitutionally permissible?

14)  Discuss how Barron v. Baltimore and Gitlow v. New York interpreted the Bill of Rights.  How did the Gitlow decision lead to the creation of the incorporation doctrine?
