v Wednesday- Review vocabulary, section A and B of Lesson 13 for 10 minutes.

v Friday – Review vocabulary, section C and D of Lesson 13 including the Lord’s Prayer for 10 minutes.

v Monday – Review all of Lesson 13 including Table Blessing for 10 minutes.

v Complete lesson 13, pg. 47 in Christian Studies.

Dear Parents,

I will now be implementing an incentive program for completing Latin homework. After inquiring with the students last week, it has been my hunch and now a fact that a large percentage of students are not reviewing their Latin homework on a regular basis. I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping up with this review. The curriculum to be used next year, Latina Christiana II, goes at a much faster pace. If the students are not just familiar but proficient with this first level, they may easily become discouraged and give up with the second level. I also would not count on the fact that they can redo the first level. That is what we are doing now! I believe if they do this course a third time, they will be even more bored and want to give up. Also, studies prove that the younger children have a “window of opportunity” to learn languages.

I am now asking that you initial beside each day (Wednesday, Friday and Monday) after your child has completed a minimum of 10 minutes of review for a total of 30 minutes a week. If the student completes the review before 10 minutes, then he/she must review past lessons or the Lord’s Prayer to reach the minimum of 10 minutes. I will be checking these sheets in class so please send them along with your child every Tuesday. If your child misses a day, he/she may make it up on another day but it must be done in that week. If ALL the students have all 3 days checked off by a parent, I will reward them monthly with a class fun day where I will bring in treats and play Latin/Bible games.
