6th Grade Language Arts Assignments
Week 25 – March 31, 2008
Dear Parents and Students: Though we will complete nearly all the grammar sections of the Language C book this year, we have skipped the early chapters on capitalization and punctuation. Through testing and composition, about half of the students in the class demonstrate mastery of these important concepts. The others still are uncertain of when and where to capitalize and punctuate. I would like to assign a second, optional set of grammar pages to cover those areas during these last few weeks of school. These are highly recommended if your student still needs to have you or me correct many of these mistakes on his/her compositions. I will not cover these in class nor test them (unless you request it), and leave it to your choice whether your student would profit from a thorough review of these grammar rules. Please require the optional assignments of your student if you believe it would help advance his/her composition skills and confidence.
