LC |
Read the blue box at the top of p. 228. Do Think A on p. 228 and Think A, B, and C on p. 229. |
Writing |
Using the notes I wrote to you and your first draft returned in class yesterday, revise and write your final draft of your narrative event. Bring it (with all drafts) back to class tomorrow to turn in (and keep your vacation free of writing obligations!). |
Read chapters 7-9 today. Read and do p. 6 of your Treasure Island Vocabulary Packet. |
Bible Memory |
Memorize Isaiah 53:4-5 today. Use your own Bible if the copy I gave you uses difficult language. We will not drill this one in class. |
CS3 |
Nothing today! |
Poetry |
Memorize lines 9-12 of your poem this week. You should know the first half now. |
Don’t forget to bring your permission slip tomorrow! And (hopefully) a public library card from home for checking out materials.

LC |
Begin the “Looking Back” section on pp. 230-234. You may skip the Capitalization and Punctuation section, but do at least “The Sentence,” “Using Verbs,” and “Subject and Verb Agreement.” |
Writing |
Begin looking over your resources for your research report. Take at least two 3x5” cards’ worth of notes from one source AND WRITE A BIBLIOGRAPHY CARD referencing your source (using the cards on pp. 97-99 of LC as your models.) If you don’t have 3x5” cards, please purchase some over break. |
Read chapters 10-12 today to finish Part II and do pp. 7 and 8 of your Vocabulary Packet. Please catch yourself up to this point over break if you are behind and make a note on how long this reading is taking you – especially if it is longer than 30 minutes a day. |
Bible Memory |
Finish memorizing Isaiah 53:4-6 today. Recite it to a parent and have them sign it off on your check sheet. |
CS3 |
Read pp. 462-463 in the GCB. Do #1-4 on p. 63 of CS3. |
Poetry |
Review lines 1-12 of your poem (“Nation’s Strength”, “Ironsides”, or “Solitude”). Recite these lines (or more!) to a parent or family member today. |
Have a Wonderful
Easter Break! Christ is Risen!!!

LC |
Finish the “Looking Back” section on pp. 230-234. Have a parent check your work. Diagram the odds of the last section and have a parent check them to see how you’re doing. (If you get some wrong, do a few more with a parent’s help.) Come to class tomorrow prepared to review this whole chapter! Let me know if you’ve forgotten anything over break that needs more review – otherwise we’ll take this chapter test at home on Wednesday. |
Writing |
Continue taking notes on 3x5 cards for your research paper. Any source you use should also have a bibliography card (see LC, pp. 97-99). Spend 20 minutes on this today. |
Begin section III today. Read chapters 13-15. Read the vocabulary notes and definitions on p. 9 of your vocab. packet to inform your reading. Expect a reading/vocab quiz in class on Thursday (but not tomorrow). |
Bible Memory |
Begin memorizing John 3:16-19 today. Since you probably already know John 3:16, work on verse 17 today. |
CS3 |
Read pp. 464-465 of the GCB. Do #5-8 on p. 63 of CS3. |
Poetry |
Review lines 1-12 of the poem you chose. Begin memorizing lines 13-16 today. |
