LC	Do Think C, p. 211. Read the box at the top of p. 212 and do the Think. Have a parent correct p. 208 and pp. 210-212.
WS1	Finish checking and making corrections to your sloppy copy. Write a complete first draft of your Narrative.
Roll of Thunder	Read chapter 8. Answer: “What is Cassie’s real reason for acting like a servant to Lillian Jean? Humanly speaking, is her plan a good one? Why or why not? As a Christian, has she done the right thing? Why or why not?”
Bible Memory	Recite Matthew 28:18 – 20 to a parent if you have not done so yet. Read over Luke 21:33 to memorize by Friday.
CS3	Be sure you have your Bible Quiz complete and ready to be turned in tomorrow. Read p. 444 in the GCB. Do #1-3 on p. 57.
Poetry	Review the first 8 lines of “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus and read over the end of the poem several times. Memorize up to “With silent lips” in line 10.

LC	Skip p. 213 and finish any diagramming on p. 214 that you did not do with us in class. Check them with a parent. Be sure you know how to diagram adjectives.
WS1	Read over all comments on the first draft of your biography returned to you in class yesterday. Make corrections and revise your first draft. Write your final draft of this paper.
Roll of Thunder	Read chapter 9. Make another entry in your reading response log and answer: “What lesson does Papa want Cassie to learn from the fig tree?”
Bible Memory	Review and memorize Luke 21:33. Recite it to a parent and have them sign off your check sheet. (Looking ahead: Read over John 1:1-5.)
CS3	Read pp. 445-446 (up to “The Betrayal”) in the GCB and do #4-7 on p. 57. Read the verse on the bottom of p. 56 and do #1-3 there.
Poetry	Memorize the first 12 lines of “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus. If you don’t know remember what they mean, look up “pomp” “wretched” “refuse (noun)” and “teeming.” Tell a parent what the poem says the statue symbolizes – or put the last 5 lines in your own words.

LC	Read the blue box on p. 215. Do Think A and Write B on pp. 215-216.
WS1	Be sure you are ready to turn in the final draft of your biography and the first draft of your narrative event if you have not done so. Do your best work on both and bring all copies to be turned in tomorrow.
Roll of Thunder	Read Chapter 10. What does he mean when Mr. Morrison says “the note’s been called up?” What has Uncle Hammer done to find the needed money? Also, T.J. is clearly making many bad choices. What, do you think, was the first bad decision we read of that started him on this path? Do you feel sorry for him? Why or why not?
Bible Memory	Begin memorizing John 1:1-5 today. Spend at least 5 minutes working on verses 1-2.
CS3	Read the rest of p. 446 and 447 in GCB. Do #8-10 on p. 57. Finish lesson 16.
Poetry	See how much of “The New Colossus” you can recite by memory. We will recite this in class on Thursday!
