Read chapter 8. Answer: “What is Cassie’s real reason for acting like a servant to Lillian Jean? Humanly speaking, is her plan a good one? Why or why not? As a Christian, has she done the right thing? Why or why not?” |

Bible Memory |
Recite Matthew 28:18 – 20 to a parent if you have not done so yet. Read over Luke 21:33 to memorize by Friday. |

Be sure you have your Bible Quiz complete and ready to be turned in tomorrow. Read p. 444 in the GCB. Do #1-3 on p. 57. |

Poetry |
Review the first 8 lines of “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus and read over the end of the poem several times. Memorize up to “With silent lips” in line 10. |

Review and memorize Luke 21:33. Recite it to a parent and have them sign off your check sheet. (Looking ahead: Read over John 1:1-5.) |

Read pp. 445-446 (up to “The Betrayal”) in the GCB and do #4-7 on p. 57. Read the verse on the bottom of p. 56 and do #1-3 there. |

Memorize the first 12 lines of “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus. If you don’t know remember what they mean, look up “pomp” “wretched” “refuse (noun)” and “teeming.” Tell a parent what the poem says the statue symbolizes – or put the last 5 lines in your own words. |

What, do you think, was the first bad decision we read of that started him on this path? Do you feel sorry for him? Why or why not? |
