If you did not take the grammar retest last week and still wish to do so, today is your last chance.  Bring it to class to turn in tomorrow.

Read the blue box on p. 190 and do Think A and B on pp. 190-191. Have a parent correct this and any other pages in this chapter that you have completed up to now. 

WS1

Complete a “best work” first draft of your short Biography.  Bring it and your sloppy copy, student writing skills checklist, and your biography worksheet to class to turn in tomorrow.

Call of Wild

Read chapter 6, “For the Love of a Man.”  What do you learn about Buck’s character in this chapter?  Add your thoughts to the questions you answered last week.  

Bible Memory

Continue working on the Beatitudes for at least 5 minutes.  Review verses 3-4 and memorize verses 5-6.

Nothing today.

Poetry

Re-read all of “The Road Not Taken” and keep working on the third stanza.

Read pp. 11-1 and 11-2.  Do p. 11-3 and begin planning your News Article.  If you need to, do a little research. 

Call of Wild

Finish reading Call of the Wild.

Bible Memory

Finish memorizing the first 6 verses of the Beatitudes -- Matthew 5:3-8.  If you can recite verses 3-8, do so and have a parent sign off the FIRST of the two “Beatitudes” slots on your checksheet.

Read pp. 428-429 in GCB.  Do #1 and 2 on p. 43.

Poetry

Try to say the first three stanzas of “The Road Not Taken” aloud from memory.  Work on these for at least 5 minutes.

Carefully read p. 11-4 BEFORE you begin writing.  Do pp.11-5 and 11-6 to prepare for your News Article.

Call of Wild

Review the whole book in your mind and write down one sentence to capture the theme of the book.  Why do you think it is called The Call of the Wild?  Bring the answers to all your chapter questions to class tomorrow. 

Bible Memory

Continue memorizing “The Beatitudes,” from Matthew 5:3-8 this week.  Review verses 3-8 today and begin memorizing verses 9 and 10.

Read pp. 430-431 in GCB.  Do # 3 and 4 on p. 43. 

Poetry

Review stanzas 1-3 of “The Road Not Taken.”  If possible, begin memorizing the 4th stanza.
