LC

Do Think C and D on p. 185.  If you did poorly on the last test, review diagramming on pp. 165-168.  On a sheet of paper, diagram #11-20 on p. 166 and #8-15 on p. 168.  Bring these to class next Tues.

WS1

Finish filling out the Biography Worksheet on p. 10-5.  Do any further research required to be sure you know the main accomplishment of his or her life and the other items listed on that page.  Begin a “sloppy copy” of your short biography – this should be 3 paragraphs long rather than just one unless you still find writing this much difficult.

Call of Wild

Read chapter 3, “The Dominant Primordial Beast.”  To last week’s book response paper, add these answers:  “How did Buck undermine Spitz’s authority and what effect did this have on the team?   Do you feel sorry for Spitz?  Do you like Buck as much as you did at the beginning of the story?  Why or why not?”

Bible Memory

Work on memorizing the order of the books of the New Testament for at least 5 minutes.

CS3

Read pp. 423 to the middle of p. 425 in GCB.  Do #6-8 on p. 41

Poetry

Re-read all of “The Road Not Taken” and be sure you know the first stanza.  Begin memorizing the second stanza.

Prepare any previous recitations you skipped to be “made up” in class tomorrow.

LC

Read the blue and yellow boxes at the top of pp. 186-187.  Do Think A,B and Write C on pp. 186-188.  If you did poorly on your last test, review  your test and mark any you don’t understand to ask me about on Tues.

WS1

Complete Skill Builder Day 3 on p. 10-10.  Be sure you understand both appositives and “-ly” adverbs well enough to include each in your biography.  Finish writing the sloppy copy of your 3 paragraph short biography using your Biography Worksheet and other notes.  Each paragraph should cover one section or achievement from your person’s life.

Call of Wild

Read chapter 4, “Who Has Won to Mastership.”  Respond to these questions:  “How did Francois react when he found out that Spitz was dead?  Why?  How has Buck changed from the beginning of the book?”

Bible Memory

Recite the books of the NT in order to your parent and have them sign it off on your checklist.  If you already know them, begin memorizing the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-12.  We will work on these for 2 weeks.

CS3

Read pp. 425-426 in GCB.  Complete lesson 12 on p. 41.

Poetry

Try to say the first two stanzas of “The Road Not Taken” aloud from memory.

LC

Read (and memorize) the blue box on the top of p. 189.  Do “Think” on p. 189.  If you are retaking the Nouns test tomorrow or Wednesday, bring your test and diagrams to school tomorrow.  Also, review p. 172.

WS1

Take the sloppy copy of your biography and your Lesson 10:  Student Writing Skills Checklist on p. 10-11 and carefully review your paper checking off each item on the checklist.  If there is an item on the checklist that you can’t honestly check off, add it in to your sloppy copy in the blank lines.  Make any changes you think might improve your paper either in pencil or on the computer.

REMEMBER:  Tomorrow is the last day to turn in late assignments this semester.

Call of Wild

Read chapter 5, “The Toil of Trace and Trail.”  Respond:  “Why didn’t Buck get up when it was time to leave Thornton’s camp?  What was Hal’s response?  What was Thornton’s response?  How did Buck’s behavior save his life?

Bible Memory

Begin memorizing “The Beatitudes,” from Matthew 5:3-8 this week.  Learn verses 3 and 4 today.

CS3

Check back through the first 12 lessons of CS3 today to be sure you have completed them and finish any you may have skipped.  Bring the book to class tomorrow to turn in for grading.  Completion of the first 12 lessons will be included in the first marking period’s grades.

Poetry

Review stanzas 1 and 2 of “The Road Not Taken” and begin memorizing the 3rd stanza.  Next week we will begin reciting these!
