LC – Read the blue box at the top of p.178 and study the cases in the box on the top of p. 179. Explain to a parent what the Nominative, Objective, and Possessive cases of pronouns are. Please ask them to help you understand! Give some examples. Read also the yellow box on p. 179 and do the Think at the bottom of the page.

WS1 – Revise and neatly write or type the final draft of your Informational (Animal) paper that was returned to you in class yesterday. Bring it to class tomorrow. Also be sure all of your Unit 9 Skill builders are complete and ready to be turned in tomorrow.

Literature -- Go to http://london.sonoma.edu/jackbio.html and read the biography of Jack London listed there. Bring your copy of The Call of the Wild to class tomorrow.

Bible Memory – Continue working on memorizing Micah 6:8.

CS3 – Read pp. 414-415 in the Golden Children’s Bible (GCB) and do #5-7 on p. 39. Please note that though I do not collect these often, I will be collecting and grading through lesson 12 in two weeks to add to your Bible grades for the semester. After that, there will be no “make up” time in Bible.

Poetry – Review your Emily Dickinson poem if you did not recite before Christmas so that you are ready to recite it tomorrow or next Thursday (last chance!). This will be your last recitation for the first semester’s grades. Begin memorizing the first stanza of

Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken.”

LC – Read the blue and yellow boxes on p.180 and do Think A, B, and C on pp. 180-181. Do Write D orally with a parent and have them correct pp.176-181.

WS1 – Read pp. 10-1 and 10-2 and do 10-3. Skip 10-5 and do Skill Builder Day One on p. 10-7 and 10-8.

Call of the Wild – Read chapter 1, “Into the Primitive.” On a sheet of paper, explain why Manuel stole Buck. What lesson did the man in the red sweater teach Buck?

Bible Memory – Finish memorizing Micah 6:8. If you already know it, spend a few minutes reading through the names of the books of the New Testament.

CS3 – Read pp. 416-419 in the GCB and do #8-9 on p. 39.

Poetry – Continue working on “The Road Not Taken.”

LC – Read the blue and yellow boxes on p. 182 and 183. Do Think on p.182 and Think A and B on pp. 183-184.

WS1 – Do Skill Builder Day Two on pp. 10-8 and 10-9. Choose your biography person and do some research on his or her life. Begin filling out the Biography worksheet on p. 10-5.

Call of the Wild – Read chapter 2, “The Law of Club and Fang.” On Friday’s sheet of paper, list three ways that Buck has changed so far. What is “the law of club and fang”?

Bible Memory – Begin memorizing the order of the books of the New Testament.

CS3 – Read pp. 420-422 in GCB and do #1-5 on p. 41.

Poetry – Finish memorizing the first stanza of “The Road Not Taken.”
