Language C (LC) – pp. 24 - 25, Think A, B and C. Bring in your Language C test book.

Write Shop I (WSI) – Carefully revise and rewrite by hand or on your computer a final draft of your Lesson 1 assignment (describing an object) returned to you in class on Tuesday. Bring your final draft to class on Thursday to turn in.

Tom Sawyer – Read chpts. 16-17. Write a one-sentence summary of each chapter.

Bible Memory – Work on memorizing The Ten Commandments (short version).

Christian Studies (CS3) – Read pp. 358-359 ( Jesus Among the Teachers). Do questions 6-8 on p. 5. Bring your Christian Studies book to Literature class on Thursday.

Poetry – Read over your assigned stanza of “Daniel Boone” 3or 4 times. Come to class tomorrow ready to ask about any words or concepts you don’t understand.

LC – Use pages 29-30 as a chapter review. Either do them orally with an adult, or have someone correct them carefully. Do you understand everything there? Use the check-off sheet handed out in class to verify that you have completed all assignments from Chapter 1. Bring the check-off sheet to class Tuesday to turn in with your test.

WSI – Begin this section with Lesson 3: Elements of a Character Sketch, Part1 on p. 3-4. Also complete Day 1of the Skill Builder on p. 3-11.

Tom Sawyer – Read chpts. 18-20. Write a one-sentence summary of two of these chapters.

Bible Memory – Check that you remember the order of the 10 Commandments. Say them for an adult and have them sign this off.

CS3 – Read pp. 360-361 (The Baptism of Jesus by John). Do Q #1-3 on p. 7.

Poetry – Work on memorizing the first 4 lines of your assigned stanza.

LC – Review any concepts that you have found confusing and especially check over diagramming (pp. 18 and 22). Find a quiet spot to take Test #1 and bring it to class on Tuesday ungraded with your completed Lesson 1 check-off sheet.

WSI – Read carefully and complete Lesson 3: Elements of a Character Sketch, Part 2 (pp. 3-5 to 3-7). Pick a person in your family or close acquaintance to describe. Begin to observe that person. Also work on Day 2 of the Skill Builder (pp. 3-12 to 3-13).

Tom Sawyer – Read chpts. 21- 23. Can you find an example of either irony or satire in each of these chapters? Or at least 2 of the 3 chapters? Write them down.

Bible Memory – Read over the Nicene Creed several times. We will take 2 weeks (plus vacation, if you need it) to memorize this. Work on the beginning.

CS3 – Read pp. 362-363 (The Temptation in the Wilderness). Do Q #4-5 on p. 7.

Poetry – Do you remember the first 4 lines of your stanza? Try to say 6 lines to Mom or Dad tonight at dinner.
