Language C (LC) – No homework tonight.  If you were confused last week on any assignments, take the extra time to complete extra exercises with a parent’s help.

Write Shop I (WS1) – Do Lesson 2:  Skill Builder, Day One (pages 2-6 and the top of 2-7)  Write it in your book or on a separate piece of paper.

Then read the instructions for Lesson 2:  Describing a pet (pp. 2-1 and 2-2).  Do the Observing a Pet Worksheet (p. 2-3).  Look up your word lists behind the last tab in the binder to help you find descriptive words.  Begin your Mind-map (pp. 2-4 to 2-5) using the ideas from your observation worksheet (p. 2-3).

Tom Sawyer – Read chapters 7-9.

Bible Memory – Work on memorizing The Great Commandments (Mark 12:29-31).

WS1  -- Do Lesson 2:  Skill Builder, Day Two (p. 2-7, lower half).  Complete your pet Mind-map and write a sloppy copy.  Read the instructions on pp. 2-1 and 2-2 again to help you focus on strong words.

CS3 – Read pp. 354-355 (The Visit of the Wise Men).  Do questions #1-2 on page 5.

Poetry Memorization – Read your assigned stanza of “Daniel Boone” over aloud three times.  Check to be sure that you understand all the words.  Highlight anything you don’t understand so we can talk about it in class.

WS1 – Complete Day Three of the Skill Builder (p. 2-8).  Find an adult to try “A Portrait of your pet” on the second half of 2-2.  Did they have all the details they needed to draw an accurate portrait?  Keep their drawing to turn in with your first drafts.  Using Lesson 2:  Student Writing Skills Checklist (after page 2-8) revise your sloppy copy and write a first draft.  Check off every box and staple all drafts together to turn in on Tuesday.

Tom Sawyer – Read chapters 13-15.

Please bring to school your copy of Language C Test booklet.  I will keep them at school and send home the tests one by one as we take them.
