Latin II Assignment, week of
January 16, 2007
Nota Bene: We are in
National Latin Exam crunch time. Your assignments will be hefty the next 6
weeks or so. Take heart. I am sure you will do very well on the
exam. Things will lighten up
around the second week of March. Please set the timer for 80 minutes or do your
assignment in two 40 minute chunks and you should have plenty of time. If you should run out of time, it’s OK,
but please put forth your best effort. ~Magistra Rose
Your Latin quotations for the
week are:
Beatī pauperēs
spīrītu, quoniam ipsōrum est rēgnum caelōrum.
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Beatī quī
lūgent: quoniam ipsī cōnsōlābuntur.
Blessed are those who mourn for
they shall be comforted.
Beatī mitēs
quoniam ipsī possidēbunt terram.
Blessed are the meek, for they
shall inherit the earth.
Beatī quī
ēsuriunt, et sitiunt jūstitiam, quoniam ipsī saturābuntur.
Blessed are those who hunger
and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
Please write in your notebooks and say as you write.
Nota Bene: All written
assignments must be labeled, dated, and written legibly with a pen or No. 2
pencil.
