Wednesday, September 20

□ Write all grammar numbers from the “Assignments” for Lessons 7 in Henle in the Grammar Numbers section of your notebooks.

□ Review and learn vocabulary and grammar #’s for Lesson 7.  Be sure to recite the declensions of  magnus, -a, -um, 2 times.  Then attempt to write it from memory in your notebook. I will check this in class on Thursday.

□ Write the rules for adjectives in the boxes from Lesson  7 . Draw boxes around them to show that they are in fact rules. Be prepared to show them to me in class on Tuesday.  Recite the rule orally as you write it.

□ Write ex., 88, 89, and 92 evens.

Friday, September 22

□ Read Ecce Romani Chapter 3 out loud in Latin.  Try to understand it as you read it. Now recite the vocabulary from each chapter out loud and read their English meanings 2 times.  Reread the Latin to yourself and glance at the vocab. as you go. Do you understand it now?

Read and study Roman Life II Dress.

Henle

□ Review and learn vocabulary and grammar #’s for Lesson 8, Adjectives of the 3rd declension.  Be sure to recite the declensions of gravis, gravis, grave  2 times.  Then attempt to write it from memory in your notebook. I will check this in class on Monday. Remember the ablative singular of 3rd declension adjectives is “I” instead of “e”, the nominative neuter plural is “ia”, and the genitive plural is “ium”.

□ Write the rules in the boxes from Lesson _8_.  Draw boxes around them to show that they are in fact rules. Be prepared to show them to me in class on Tuesday.  Recite the rule orally as you write it.

□ Write ex. 97, #1, 3, and 15.

□ Write ex. 98, all.

□ Memorize the declension of “Jesus”, p. 88.  Write it in your notebook.
