Latin II Assignment, week of September 12th.

Wednesday, September 13

□ Write all grammar numbers from the “Assignments” for Lessons 4 in Henle in the Grammar Numbers section of your notebooks.

□ Review and learn vocabulary and grammar #’s for Lesson 4.  Be sure to recite the declensions of portus 2 times.  Then attempt to write it from memory in your notebook. I will check this in class on Thursday. Remember the rule for gender for the 4th declension.

□ Write the rules in the boxes from Lesson ___. No rules in this chapter.  ;-) Draw boxes around them to show that they are in fact rules. Be prepared to show them to me in class on Tuesday.  Recite the rule orally as you write it.

□ Write ex.  65.

□ Read Ecce Romani Chapters 1 and 2 out loud in Latin.  Try to understand it as you read it. Now recite the vocabulary from each chapter out loud and read their English meanings 2 times.  Reread the Latin to yourself and glance at the vocab. as you go. Do you understand it now?

Henle

□ Write all grammar numbers from the “Assignments” for Lessons 5 in Henle in the Grammar Numbers section of your notebooks.

□ Review and learn vocabulary and grammar #’s for Lesson 5.  Be sure to recite the declensions of res 2 times.  Then attempt to write it from memory in your notebook. I will check this in class on Monday. Remember the rule for gender for the 5th declension.

Monday, September 18

Henle

□ Continue the same drill with grammar numbers from the “Assignments” through the end of Lesson 6.

□ Learn Vocab. Read all text from the chapter.

□ Write ex. 75, #’s 2, 4, and 6, plus the 1st sentence of #8.

□ Study for quiz on Lessons 4, 5, and 6 for Tuesday

□ Read Ecce Romani,  Roman Life I and II.  Be prepared to discuss them in detail in class on Tuesday.  I may throw in a question from those readings on the quiz on Tuesday.
