Find meanings of “Salve, Salvete, Optime, Optimum est, Pessime, Pessimum est,

Ita, Certe, Minime”.  These can be found in the Talking Latin sections of Lessons 1-3.

Copy the quotations above correctly in the “Homework” section of your notebook as part of this assignment. I understand you have already written them in the “Quotations/Classnotes Section yesterday in class.  The second time around is useful for your long-term memory. Recite them as you write them.

□ Read Henle pp. 3-5.

□ Study Lessons 1 and 2.

□ Write all grammar numbers from the “Assignments” for Lessons 1 and 2 in the Grammar Numbers section of your notebooks.

□ Review and learn vocabulary and grammar #’s for Lessons 1 and 2. Be sure to recite the declensions of terra, servus, and bellum 2 times each. Then attempt to write them from memory in your notebook. I will check this in class on Thursday.

If you do not have the vocabulary memorized, make a flashcards or write the words in your notebook.

□ Write the rules in the boxes from pp. 3 to 34. Draw boxes around them to show that they are in fact rules. Be prepared to show them to me in class on Thursday.  Recite the rule orally as you write it.

□ Write all grammar numbers from the “Assignments” for Lessons 3 through the top of p. 47 in the Grammar Numbers section of your notebooks.

□ Review and learn vocabulary and grammar #’s for Lesson 3 through the top of 47.  Be sure to recite the declensions of lex and pars 2 times each.  Then attempt to write them from memory in your notebook. I will check this in class on Monday.

□ Write the rules in the boxes from pp. 34 to 55. Draw boxes around them to show that they are in fact rules. Be prepared to show them to me in class on Tuesday.  Recite the rule orally as you write it.
