Latin II/III Assignments, week of December 6th (Week Twelve)
Please note: These assignments should take you 60 to
70 minutes each.
I recommend doing each of them
during two sittings instead of one.
You will get more out of the time spent. I am anxious to leave Henle I
behind and move onto Caesar. J
Latin quotations of the
week. Be sure you are writing
these in your notebook. You are responsible for them.
Beatī pauperēs spīrītu,
quoniam ipsōrum est rēgnum caelōrum.
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Beatī quī lūgent: quoniam
ipsī cōnsōlābuntur.
Blessed are those who mourn for
they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they
shall inherit the earth.

Wednesday, December 7th
Do this in two sittings if possible, the 1st one 30 minutes, the
second one, 40 minutes. The total
assignment should take 70 minutes.

grammar nos.,vocab., and rules for Lesson 40. This does not mean you skip
it. Read them over outloud two
times. If it takes you less than 30
minutes, you have not done a proper job. If it helps you to write some of them out for ease in
memorization, please do so.
Otherwise, just recite, recite, recite, and concentrate and engage while
you do so.

Write parts of verbs on p. 445, 450, and 454 and memorize. There are 13 verbs in all. Make sure you recite them several times
and you will become accustomed to how they sound and you will learn them. (20
minutes) if you have spent 20 minutes of concentrated time on these and still
do not have them memorized, please call me at home. 408-997-3999.
