Dear Parents,

This week we will finish regrouping with multiple digits in addition and subtraction. Please read the handout titled Lesson 18 Multiple Digit Addition and Lesson 22 handout titled Subtracting and Regrouping. Please use the example to teach your child at home and have the student demonstrate back to you by building the problem using the manipulatives as shown.

In class, after I introduce the Math U See lesson, we have been playing with geometric shapes. Each child borrowed a Geo Board. Thus, S9-S11 have been assigned for fun.

I am very proud of the children’s progress so far. I will be sending home our first test for the year on Monday. This week only, please keep track of how much time your child spends with the class work. Please write down any comments you have, too. After vacation, we will start the Gamma book. Mrs. Owen
