Dear Parents,

This week for Math 3, the children will review “Rounding to Hundreds, Multiple Digit Addition with Regrouping” or carrying. Please read the handout titled Lesson 11 Addition with Regrouping which I have handed out in class. Please use the example to teach your child at home and have the student demonstrate back to you by building the problem using the manipulatives. In addition, this week we will begin skip counting. There is a half-sheet titled Homework for your child to complete that assists in learning the multiplication facts. As a class, we orally drill the skip counting facts. If you haven’t already done so, please listen to the Math-U-See CD titled Skip Counting and Addition facts to assist your child in learning these facts. Also, Could you please correct the calculadders and math-u-see assignment pages? Your child receives a weekly allowance to spend on Mrs. Owen’s prize box.
