Dear Parents,
In Gamma we will continue to learn double digit multiplication with
regrouping in lesson 24. The students
will continue to need you to get the correct order. Please read the directions or watch Gamma
lesson 24 DVD. This method allows the students to add correctly without getting
confused. If you start out teaching the
children with the blocks they understand it a little easier. If
your student has built the problems successfully he/she may be ready to drop
that and show the work neatly on the paper. You may either write lines down to
assist him keep his place value or use binder paper horizontally and rewrite
the problems to have the lines assist you.
Lesson 7 of Delta is new and teaches finding the area of a parallelogram
which is fun for the students. Miquon is assigned as a review this week. This
will continue to allow students to practice addition and subtraction regrouping
problems at the parent’s discretion of quantity.
