Dear Parents,
This week in
Gamma we will continue to learn double digit multiplication with regrouping in
lesson 24. We will take 2 weeks to master this lesson. The
students will continue to need you to get the correct order. Please read the directions or watch Gamma
lesson 24 DVD. This method is a little different than the traditional way. The children do understand it with the blocks
a little easier. Please have your
student build as in the Gamma teacher’s manual and then show the work neatly on
the paper. You may either write lines down
to assist him keep his place value or use binder paper horizontally and rewrite
the problems to have the lines assist you.
This is the time to teach neatness and organization with math
problems. Miquon is assigned as a review this week. The children may earn extra play money from
me if they do the Miquon pages. This
will allow some students who missed the addition and subtraction regrouping
problems on the test to practice.
