Dear Parents,

This week we will start learning division using Math U See Delta textbook with a concept we have been learning already. This week word problems will be introduced for division for the first time and assisting your student building the problem will assist him in solving it. Please bring textbooks to class. Unfortunately, I do not have time to copy textbooks. Please correct all math assignments and hand back math packets so that I may give the students their homework allowance. As always, it may help to watch the Math U See DVD Gamma lesson 19 and Delta lesson 2. Also, please have student count the change in your coin purse or wallet. Ask how many dimes does it take to make a dollar?

Chant: 3 teaspoons equals 1 tablespoon

3 feet equals one yard

4 quarts equals one gallon

2 pints equals one quart

8 ounces equals one cup

4 quarters equals one dollar

Perimeter is adding the outside measurements

Area is multiplying the side measurements to get the space inside.
