Dear Parents,

This week the Math U See lessons will continue to master the concepts of perimeter and area. It would benefit the children to memorize the definitions below. The students will multiply by 4’s this week. Last week, I noticed that the Miquon book is ahead of the children’s understanding at this time. I apologize for assigning the Yellow book last week. The fraction assignment was more complicated than the students understanding. In class this week I gave the students fraction circles on loan from LOA as manipulatives to use and assist in understanding adding fractions and making a common denominator to use with Yellow book assignments. Next week there will be a test on Math U See assignments lessons 12-16.

Area is multiplying the side measurements to get the space inside
