Science 3 Week 29, May 8, 2006

Dear Science 3 families,

This week concludes our study in biology.  We will begin the study of the moon.  I will be condensing the chapters of the moon to get the most accurate information in a timely fashion.  Chapter 5 will not be covered since the class has not learned the math to fully understand this yet.  The history class has covered so much geography that I have saved Chapter 12 for if we had time.

New chant:

My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas.

Mercury – Venus – Earth – Mars – Jupiter – Saturn – Uranus – Neptune – Pluto

Plant Chant ( sing to Old Mac Donald)

It takes 3 things to make a plant grow

Water, Sunlight, and CO2

And the plant makes sugar and oxygen

Well this green stuff is called chlorophyll

Plants are green because of chlorophyll

And there are 2 kinds of tubes in a plant

That are smaller than an ant

The xylem brings the water up

The phloem brings that sugar down

Well you might ask, “What is all this?”

We call this photosynthesis

We call this photosynthesis
