Science 3 Assignment Sheet Week 18, February 6, 2006

          This week, the third grade class will briefly learn about nutrition.  I will generally educate them to eat a variety of healthy foods.

                                     The Digestive System

The digestion of my food is assisted by 8 parts of my body:  mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and large intestine.  These 8 parts make up the digestive system.  Its purpose is to change food into a form of energy that can be used by my body’s cells.

Complete our paper bodies.

 

Wednesday, February 8,

 

Look for pictures of:  protein, meat, breads, dairy products, oils, fats, fruit and vegetables. 

Bring one food item (2 cups) to share with classmate so we can make a trail mix on Thursday in class.   ( Examples could be, peanuts, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, cereal,
