Science
3 Week 27,
Dear Science 3 families,
This week we will continue to study plants. We
will move from studying plants without a stem to plants that do have a stem and
either have seeds or no seeds. Thank-you for sharing samples of your landscape. It provides for wonderful class viewing and
discussion. This week, we begin to study
chapter 11, Trees.
New
Plant Chant
It takes 3 things to make a
plant grow
Water, Sunlight, and CO2
And the plant makes sugar and
oxygen
Well this green stuff is
called chlorophyll
Plants are green because of
chlorophyll
And there are 2 kinds of
tubes in a plant
That are smaller than an ant
The xylem brings the water up
The phloem brings that sugar
down
Well you might ask, “What is
all this”
We call this photosynthesis
We call this photosynthesis
