Assistant to the Finance & Systems Administrator (full-time entry level)

 

Job Analysis

The Assistant to the Finance & Systems Administrator (AFSA) will support the Finance and Systems Administrator in the various tasks of Database Administration, Finance, and Business Management.

Areas of Responsibility and Priorities

The primary priority of the AFSA is to provide support for the Finance and Systems Administrator. This includes but is not limited to managing the Finance and Systems Administrator’s phone and calendar. In addition, the AFSA will troubleshoot incoming queries as directed by the Finance and Systems Administrator.

The second priority of the AFSA is to support the Finance and Systems Administrator in the management of the Academy’s Student Management System. These responsibilities include being trained in the hosting requirements of the Blackbaud Hosted Solution and other modules in the Small School Solution; assisting in the training and development of staff and families; and the resolving of technical issues.

The third priority of the AFSA is to support the Finance and Systems Administrator in the processes of Finance and Business Management. These responsibilities may include assisting with Student Billing, deposits and End of month/year reports and forecasts; auditing payroll and other payroll dependent processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A successful candidate for the position will have experience working in database systems. A four-year technical degree is strongly recommended.

The AFSA should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Aptitude for learning software applications
  • Expertise in the complete Microsoft Office suite of products, Google Apps and web content management
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts efficiently and clearly to non-technical LOA personnel
  • Must be able to work independently
  • IT Experience desirable

Training and orientation will be focused on:

  • Understanding the needs and priorities of Live Oak Academy
  • Familiarity with the admissions and registration processes of Live Oak Academy
  • Proficiency in the Blackbaud Small School Solution and investigating future options.

Expectations Regarding Work Hours

The Assistant to the Finance & Systems Administrator job is a full time position in line with Academy days. Hours are from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
