Science Fair Details

2:30 – 6:00 pm Current Technologies Presentations for School of Rhetoric students

In an effort for our School of Rhetoric science students to stay relevant and research thoroughly within a current topic of study in their field, the traditional science project has been replaced with the Current Technologies Presentations. Students become experts within a field of study on a current topic that may explore ethical considerations of a particular innovation, newer technology or scientific discovery, or prototyping a build of an innovation.

Students present their findings in groups of two or three. They share the historical context or problem addressed by the innovation, description of current thinking in the field, implications of innovation for society and the likely steps next steps of technology.

4:00 – 6:00 pm: Student Finalist Presentations in the School of Grammar and Logic

Student finalists who have earned a spot in the final round of judging will be presenting their projects between 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Come support and encourage these hardworking and deserving students by listening to their presentations.

6:00 – 7:30 pm: Science Project Displays

All science projects from grades 1 – 8 will be on display in the exhibit rooms. Class and section winners will be revealed in the exhibit rooms.

7:30 – 8:00 pm: Awards Ceremony

The Award Ceremony has been given an overhaul!

At 7:30 pm, our Awards Ceremony will take place in the church sanctuary. Videos of past Grand Prize Winners and science teachers will be featured as well as a very special accolade to our very first Outstanding Teaching in the Sciences Award.  School of Rhetoric students presenting Current Technology Presentations will also be given award pins in recognition of their accomplishment.

Event awards will be given to the top five finalists of each category (School of Grammar and School of Logic), and the Grand Prize winner, the highest scoring finalist, will be announced. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded $100 cash.
